SPECIFICATIONS FOR DOORS
VELMAN doors are custom manufactured and supplied
unfinished. Many of our designs are copyrighted.
A. WOODS
All VELMAN doors are manufactured from kiln dried (on request)
hardwoods with natural variations in color, grain and texture.
Hand select lumber is available for an extra charge. For non-stained
(clear) finishes we recommend hand select lumber.
B. SIZES
Standard door sizes are 30", 32", 36" widths x 76" and 78" heights.
Custom sizes are also available. 2¼" thickness is recommended
for doors over 42"W or 96"H. If the door size you wish to order
is significantly different from the sizes (usually 36"W x 78"
H) shown in the catalog photos, adjustments and/or alterations
in some design configurations and panel proportions may be necessary
to accommodate your dimensions.
C. THICKNESSES
Standard thickness is 1¾". 1¼" thick doors are available
through 36" widths and 78" heights. Panels inside the door are
of 1¼" thickness, unless specified differently.
D. CONSTRUCTION
Panels exceeding width of 14" and withing 26" will contain
2 panels joined with weather resistant class 1 adhesive.
E. CARVED AND SOLID PANEL DOORS
Doors are available carved one side or carved two sides unless
noted.
F. ASYMMETRICAL DESIGNS
Double doors will be mirror image matched unless you specify otherwise.
H. CUSTOM DESIGNS
Custom designs are available to your specifications. Forward your
detailed sketches for quotation.
